He Is We

With a name such as He Is We, you don’t know what to expect when you see them live. When hearing their name, you don’t think of a band whose sound is filled with acoustic strums of the guitar and very lovely lyrics. Actually, their name sounds like a screamo band. Despite all of this, He Is We gave an outstanding performance at The Door in Dallas.

He is We is made up of Rachel Taylor (Vocals) and Trevor Kelly (Guitar). These two have such a chemistry when making their music. It’s nothing that I’ve ever seen. It’s inspiring in a way. He Is We was a great addition to the Love Is All Around Us tour and they definitely gave the crowd an amazing show.

Hailing from Tacoma, Washington, they struck a chord with the crowd. The crowd doubled in size when they came on stage. Rachel Taylor has one of the best voices out in the music industry and that is saying a lot. She is able to handle the different styles and tempo of their songs. Not only are her vocals phenomenal, but her personality is so sweet. She has a charismatic presence and she interacts with the crowd very well. Trevor was on the guitar and was reserved. Although he came off as reticent, you can tell he had an animated side. This guy came out in different colored sock, which were very amusing but it showed personality. When he had the opportunity to just jam with the live band, he took it and did an amazing job.

He Is We’s set consisted of songs from their newest album My Forever. The songs that were hits with the crowd were “And Run”, “Happily Ever After”, and “All About Us.” Their audience was more than ecstatic when He Is We came on stage. Not only did they play songs off of their My Forever album, they also played a song from their previous EPs. He Is We’s sound can be described as indie acoustic with a hint of pop. They put on a great performance and their lyrics and instrumentals show for it.

If you ever have the chance to meet both Rachel Taylor and Trevor Kelly, do it because you won’t regret it.
